Qualification Objectives

The Evidence-based Health Care degree programme qualifies graduates for a professional activity related to research in the public health service, in educational and research institutions, as well as in outpatient and inpatient health facilities. The graduates master the independent and goal-oriented processing of health questions in the context of scientific practical projects. They are able to conceptualise, manage, control and evaluate projects. They are in possession of a broad knowledge of research methods, health policy and project management, so that they are able to describe, analyse and critically reflect upon relevant contexts on this basis, taking the network of these areas into account. On the whole, the graduates have the capacity for trained analytical thinking and judgment, as well as valuable knowledge for practical research.

On the basis of a bachelor's degree or diploma, the master's degree programme enables independent scientific work in various fields of the health care system and health-related scientific disciplines. Students are qualified in reflective and evidence-based action. This master's degree programme enables access to planning/conceptual work in the field of health care, direct patient care (especially in complex care situations) and to subsequent scientific qualification, e.g. in the framework of a PhD or post graduate programme.
