Research

The strengthening of the core area of research is of great importance for the successful realisation of the societal mission of the university.

With its study offerings and its research, the Hochschule für Gesundheit (hsg) contributes to finding solutions for health, social, technical, ecological and economic challenges, as well as for ensuring and improving the health care of the population.

The close links between research and teaching represents an integral component of the degree programmes at the Hochschule für Gesundheit.
It is thus a declared goal of the University to expand, strengthen, further develop and promote the research area.

In the context of the promotion or research at hsg, the cooperation with other universities, practical partners and non-university research institutions will be strategically expanded at both the national and international levels. The themes are oriented to the current and future-oriented needs of health care, which must be met both within disciplines and in an interdisciplinary fashion. The University also dedicates itself to questions involving the academization and professionalization process of the health care professions of occupational therapy, midwifery, speech and language therapy, nursing and physiotherapy.

At the hsg, the steering committee, in consultation with the Senate, formulated a concept for the promotion of research at hsg in the spring of 2013. In it, the goals for research at hsg and the organization of the promotion of research are defined.
The concept for the promotion of research at the Hochschule für Gesundheit Bochum (University of Applied Sciences) (hsg) provides for the establishing of sustainable, viable and interdisciplinary research structures as important components for structural promotion in the field of research.
