Scientific Cooperation

Scientific cooperative ventures and strategic partnerships are of great importance for forming the profile and further developing the field of research. Important strategic partners in the region and in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia include the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, the Bochum University of Applied Sciences, Universität Witten-Herdecke, Westphalian University of Applied Sciences and TU Dortmund University.

Thus, for example, the speech and language therapy degree programme of the Hochschule für Gesundheit Bochum and the subject area of language and communication of the Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences of the TU Dortmund University merged at the beginning of March 2012 to form the Verbund Sprach-GeBiTe Ruhr (cluster). The cluster has the goal of developing the promotion of young scientists and cooperating in the acquisition of third-party funding for research projects. In order to found this cluster, the TU and the hsg signed a cooperation agreement on 1 March 2012. This scientific cooperation enables both universities to jointly train academically qualified young scientists, to bundle their research expertise and to enhance their interdisciplinary profile in teaching and research.
