At the still young Hochschule für Gesundheit, in keeping with the growing number of employees, the representative for the interests of severely handicapped employees was also chosen in December 2014 for the first time.

In keeping with the tasks of the social security statute book (SGB), ninth book -Rehabilitation and participation of handicapped people, the severely handicapped employee representative is the elected representative of the interests of severely handicapped and equal opportunity employees.

She assists these in their work routine by providing information and assistance in all questions surrounding matters of professional integration and the continuing development of the severely handicapped at the workplace, for example,

• monitoring that the applicable rights for severely handicapped people are provided for at the workplace,
• applying for measures and aids for severely handicapped people with the responsible instances (prevention),
• registration of suggestions and complaints from severely handicapped persons,
• supporting of applications for the definition of or change to the severe handicap or equal opportunity status,
• working toward a design of the workplace that is suitable for handicapped people in technical and organisational terms.

At the same time, she is the contact person for severely handicapped and equal opportunity applicants for a position. She is sworn to secrecy.
